Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, March 28 2013 at the Choteau United Methodist Church for Verna Elizabeth (Bjork) Poore, age 95, of Choteau, MT died Saturday, March 23, 2013 at her home in Choteau, Mt, one day after her 95th birthday. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, March 27th at the Gorder Jensen Funeral Home in Choteau, MT. Interment will be in the Choteau Cemetery.
She was born in Bole, MT, to homesteading parents, John and Hilda (Johnson) Bjork. Verna was extremely interested in genealogy and had created over 100 binders of information about her own family and her husband's family. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing games and crossword puzzles.
Verna as dedicated to all of her extended family and tried hard to keep in touch with them through the years. She especially loved the 2010 one hundred year reunion and celebration of the Bjork's tenure in Teton County.
Verna worked for the federal government in the A.S.C.S. and for Montana State family services. She spent most of her life in Teton County and was a life-long member of the Choteau United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two daughters: Connie Bradley of Choteau, MT and Teri Chisholm of Stevensville, MT, her grandchildren: Lisa Bradley, Chris Bradley, both of Napa, ID, Justin Bradley of Bend, OR, Joshua Bradley of Eden, UT , Tami Van Kirk of Stevensville, MT, and Tara Petz of Redmond, OR; great grandchildren: Morgan Glock of Jacksonville, FL, Katie Glock of Napa, ID, Sarah Day of Oceanside, CA, Josiah Van Kirk of Stevensville, MT, Grayson Bradley of Napa, ID, Hannah Van Kirk Stevensville, MT, Jessica Bradley of Portland, OR, Bridger Bradley of Napa, ID, Nathanael Van Kirk of Stevensville, MT, Tanna River Bradley of Eden, UT, Seth and Ethan Petz, both of Redmond, OR; and a great, great grandchild: Van Holston of Jacksonville, FL.
Verna was preceded in death by her son Larry, her husband, John, her mother and father, and sisters Ruth Johnson, Lucille Forseth and Evelyn Bjork
