Thomas Christopher Larson

Thomas (Tom) Christopher Larson, devoted husband and father, passed away on December 8th, 2017 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Tom was born June 25th, 1983 in Great Falls, Montana to James and Gwendolyn (Sorenson) Larson. The youngest of three boys, he was raised on a family farm west of Dutton, Montana. He attended Dutton Public Schools, graduating from High School in 2002. Tom had a desire for higher education, but was unsure of what he wanted to study, being torn between Mechanics and Explosives. He decided to work on the family farm for a few years where he would cultivate his interests. One day on a whim, and with a little family discussion, he decided to enroll at Spartan School of Aeronautics and Technology in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Tom uncovered a talent for aircraft maintenance, however he also had a longing to be back in Montana with his family. He took a hiatus from his studies and returned to Dutton, where he met his soul mate, Dierdre Anne Stowe-Rigg. Tom and Dierdre were married on June 17th, 2010 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Dutton. In the fall of 2010, reinvigorated, Tom, Dierdre and their daughter Gwendolyn, moved to Tulsa, where he completed his education, receiving his Bachelor of Applied Science in Avionics Maintenance Technology in 2014. Tom took a job with BizJet International in January 2013, where he was able to apply his passion for aircraft. In the winter of 2016, Tom and Dierdre felt the calling to move back to Montana. Tom accepted a position in Great Falls, working for M1 Support Services, a Contractor for the Department of Defense. They settled in Dutton, where they could raise their burgeoning family and be nearer family and friends.

Tom and Dierdre have been blessed with four children, two girls, Gwendolyn (9), Aylwen (5), and twin boys Theodore and Russell (8 months). Tom was elated to be back in Dutton where he could provide his children the small town values he held so dear. Family meant everything, and although at times it would be a struggle, Tom often stated, "The best gift I can give our children, is their mother!"

Tom enjoyed sports, he was an avid skier and loved firearms. He never met a potato gun or firework that he couldn't improve.

Tom is survived by his loving wife, their four children, his mother, and brothers, Ryan Larson of Bigfork, Montana and Mark Larson of Dutton. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

Services will be held on Thursday, December 14th, 2017 with the funeral at Bethany Lutheran Church in Dutton, Montana at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow at the American Legion Hall. Burial will be at the Cemetery in Choteau, Montana at 2:00 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to Bethany Lutheran Church, Hi Line's Help for Abused Spouses in Conrad, MT, Bright Eyes Animal Shelter in Choteau, or local charity of the donor's choice
