Tom Cross, beloved husband, father, and esteemed member of the community, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2024, at the age of 70. He was born on March 7, 1954, in Burlington, Vermont, to Armand Cross and Yvonne (Bourgeois) Cross.
Tom's life was marked by a deep commitment to his family, his work, and his passions. After graduating from high school in 1975, he embarked on a journey that would lead him to create a lasting legacy. On March 6, 1982, he married the love of his life, Cindy Cross, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Their union was a testament to love, partnership, and unwavering support.
Professionally, Tom was a dedicated electrical contractor with Cedric Electric. However, his true passion lay in the rugged landscapes of Montana, where he pursued his love for hunting and fishing. In pursuit of this passion, he moved to Montana, where he worked for Homer Wolf, Kalispell Electric, and eventually established his own company, Tom Cross Electric, in 1988. His entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to excellence were evident in every project he undertook.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Tom was deeply involved in his community. He served as the president of the Teton Antique Steam and Gas Association, where he shared his enthusiasm for vintage machinery and fostered a sense of camaraderie among fellow enthusiasts.
Tom's interests were diverse and reflected his zest for life. He found solace and joy in woodworking and construction, crafting beautiful pieces that will serve as a lasting testament to his skill and creativity. He also had a profound appreciation for nature's beauty, often spending hours capturing the magnificence of wildlife through his camera lens. One of his greatest joys was watching the sunrise, a simple yet profound moment that filled him with a sense of peace and wonder.
Tom will be remembered for his kindness, his unwavering integrity, and his generous spirit. He touched the lives of all who knew him and leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will be cherished forever.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Cross; his son, Jesse of Kalispell, MT; sisters, Judy Pyer of Newport, NC; Nancy Randall of Colchester, VT; Linda Billado of Hammond, LA; Cindy Cross-Greenia of Underhill, VT; and brother, Allen Cross of Milton, VT.
Tom always said he never met a stranger. He had friends far and wide that wouldn't want to attend a service. In lieu of a Celebration of Life, Tom has requested everyone to simply celebrate life, make memories with the people you love, share stories that make you laugh, and make the most of the day.
