Rose Truchot

September 15, 1923 — February 21, 2012

Rose Truchot, a lifelong resident of Choteau, passed away early Tuesday morning February 21, 2012, due to sudden cardiac arrest. She had been visiting her son in Bellevue, WA, since mid-December and was looking forward to returning to her home soon.

The funeral will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday afternoon, February 25, 2012, at United Methodist Church in Choteau. She will be interred in the Choteau Cemetery next to her husband Howard, who preceded her in death in 1991.

Rose was born in Bunker, Missouri, on September 15, 1923, to Elmer and Bessie Camden. However, Elmer died shortly thereafter, and Bessie moved her four children to Montana to be near relatives. Rose spent her early years in the Farmington area.

Though still a teenager, Rose met her husband to be at a community dance, fell in love and married at age sixteen. She and Howard spent their working lives on a farm (Truchot Brothers) north of Choteau. They worked hard, managed the farm well through good times and bad, and retired finally in 1979. They then moved to their home "in town".

Although Rose's brother Earl and sister Esther have already passed on, her sister Alma is still with us, living in Skyline Lodge as well as her half-brother Bill Broere who is living in Dillon.

Rose reared four children. Her daughter Evalena Hemry resides in Helena; Howard Truchot, Jr. in Bellevue, WA; Louise Lineberry in Black Eagle in Great Falls, and Lawrence Truchot who summers at Holter Lake and winters in Florida.

She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and their offspring. Rose has thirteen grandchildren, twenty-sis great-grand children, and four great-great grand children. How many people are lucky enough to see four generations succeed them?

Some may say that Rose had an enlarged heart. What she really had was a big, big heart, capable of loving all who knew her.

Although we all are very sad to see her go to her final reward, we all know for sure that God is very happy to have her back.
