Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, November 28, 2011 at the Little Flower Catholic Church in Browning, MT for Robert Lee Many Guns, age 55, of Browning who died Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the Browning Community Hospital in Browning from undetermined natural causes. A wake will be held starting Friday afternoon until service time with a vigil service planned for 7:00 PM Sunday, Nov. 27th at the Old Eagle Shield Center. Burial will be in the Mad Plume family cemetery under the direction of Gorder Jensen Funeral Home of Choteau.
Robert was born June 17, 1956 in Browning, Mt, the son of Robert C. and Doris M. (Weasel Head) Many Guns. He was a Tribal fire fighter for the Blackfeet Tribe and a mechanic. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps.
He was raised and educated in the Little Badger and Browning area and was a member of the Little Flower Catholic Church.
Robert enjoyed arts and crafts, cooking, gathering firewood, fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed watching television and being with friends and family.
He is survived by his parents, Robert and Ramona Many Guns of Browning, MT, his common law wife: Georgina Mad Plume of Heart Butte, MT; children: Richard Many Guns of Little Badger, MT, Maryls Coffey of Tulsa, OK, Bobby Weasel Head of Winnebago, NE, and step-daughter, Anna Lee Mad Plume of Browning, MT; brothers and sisters: Rose (Gerald) Tollefson of Great Falls, MT, Anna (Mike) Johnson of Helena, MT, Hazel Bird of Browning, Nelson Bull Plume of Tacoma, WA, Diane Bird of Browning, MT and Marie Rider of Browning, an uncle: Dempsey Weasel Head of California and 8 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris, a brother, Lowell, and his grandparents, Tom and Mary Many Guns.
