Patricia (Pat) Faye Barrett passed away at Teton Peak Assisted Living in Choteau, Montana at the age of 94 on May 23, 2026. Pat was born to Stanley and Morva Ziegler in Fingal, North Dakota. She grew up on the family farm alongside her sisters Janet, Ardis, Alyce, and brother Russ.

Pat received her education in North Dakota and later earned her Registered Nursing Degree from Fargo, North Dakota. She took her first nursing job in Choteau, Montana, where she later met and married the love of her life, Paul Barrett. Together they raised their three children, Rex, Nolan, and Lindsay on their Valier, Montana ranch on Dupuyer Creek.

As a nurse, she worked at Conrad Hospital, Valier Clinic, and at Swift Dam while it was under construction. After many years, the family sold the ranch and purchased another ranch north of Lewistown in the Hilger area, where they operated the ranch with their son Nolan for over twenty years. From there, they retired to an acreage on the Fairfield Bench.

Pat's passions included gardening, flowers, cooking, playing cards, and attending church on Sundays. She loved ranch life, often tallying cows on a clipboard, running a buck rake during haying, and serving a delicious meal at the end of the day. Above all, she loved her family deeply.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul; sisters, Janet and Ardis; and her brother Russ.

She is survived by her sister, Alyce of Wickenburg, Arizona; her children, Rex (Monica) Barrett of Hilo, Hawaii, Nolan (Deanna) Barrett of Brady, Montana, and Lindsay (Rod) Chaska of Baker, Montana; grandchildren, Chance (Ashley) Barrett, Jace (Michele) Barrett, Abby (Stonie) Tucker, and Riley (Krista) Chaska; and great-grandchildren, Wayd, Bellamee, Qwynn Barrett, Zayne Barrett, and Beth and Natalie Chaska.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service for Pat on June 20, 2026, at the Choteau Cemetery in Choteau, Montana at 11:00 a.m.
