Ove Larson

August 8, 1924 — December 12, 2013

Ove Alvern Larson, 89, of Dutton, Montana passed away of natural causes December 12, 2013 at his home surrounded by loved ones. Ove was born August 8, 1924 in Spring Grove, Minnesota to Alfred Larson and Caroline Ganrude Larson.



Ove graduated from Spring Grove High School with the class of 1942 and went on to hold a few jobs including working for a Hormel chicken factory in Austin, Minnesota. He moved to Montana in 1956 where he worked as a bus driver and drove semi and tractor trucks.



Ove met his wife Sarah A. Sammons in 1956 at a card party and they were married August 28, 1957. They two continued working and living in the Teton county area until 1962 when their daughter Cindy was born. That same year they bought their farm outside Dutton.



Ove regularly attended the Lutheran church. His hobbies included restoration and rebuilding of steam engines. He was the original starter of Teton Steam and Gas (ASSN).

Ove also enjoyed wood working and hunting and was an active member of the National Rifle Association (N.R.A.)



Ove is preceded in death by his wife Sarah A. Sammons who passed on December 2, 1999. He is survived by his daughter Sindy Young of Dutton, Montana; his sister Gudrn Schleusner of Stocton Missouri; his grandchild Sarah Ruddle of Shelby, Montana and his great grandson Alexander Simonsen of Shelby, Montana as well as several nieces and nephews.



Services for Ove will be held in the spring of 2014 and he will be placed by his wife Sarah in the Choteau Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Peace Hospice.
