CHOTEAU- Former Fairfield resident Mary Gail (Sawyer) McRae, 82, of Choteau, died at Choteau Benefis Teton Medical Center.
Mary Gail (Sawyer) McRae died Thursday September 8, 2016 while battling cancer. Mary was born June 4, 1934, in Sidney, MT to Gail and Marguerite Sawyer. While being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Mary worked for the US Post Office for many years. She married William McRae in 1955 and raised four beautiful children. Her warmth and kindness made her beloved by many and she will be greatly missed and long remembered.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, William McRae of Choteau; sons Mark McRae of New Orleans, LA and Michael McRae of Alamo, CA; as well as her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her son Timothy McRae and daughter Colleen (McRae) Fischer preceded her in death.
According to Mary's wishes there will be no memorial service. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Gorder-Jensen Funeral Home of Choteau. In lieu of donations or flowers to the family, the suggested memorial recipient is Bright Eyes Pet & Rehab (175 State Hwy 221, Choteau, MT 59422).
