It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Marvin Gust Schock, who left us on July 15, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on September 14, 1935, on the family farm near Terry, Montana, Marvin grew up with a love for life and a strong sense of community. The Schock family later moved to their farm in the Greenfields Irrigation Project on the Fairfield Bench, where Marvin's adventurous spirit began to take flight.

A proud graduate of Power High School, Marvin went on to serve in the Air National Guard, honoring his country with dedication. After his time in service, he became known as the owner of the Bynum Bar for several years before transitioning to Breen's Oil Company, where he worked until his retirement in 2000. He also spent time helping out at the Choteau Airport, reflecting his lifelong passion for airplanes.

Marvin was a true jack-of-all-trades, with hobbies that included hunting, reloading, gardening, reading, and tinkering on his computer. He lived life to the fullest and shared his warmth, wisdom, and sense of humor with everyone around him.

He is survived by his loving step-daughters, Cindy (Greg) Crabtree of Choteau and Wendy (Allen) Gaskell of Great Falls, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Rodney Collins and Felica Allen-Craw. Marvin is also missed by his brothers, Jack (Susie) Schock of Medford, OR; Harold (Judy) Schock of Ephrata, WA; Dve (Shirl) Schock of Billings, MT; and Ed Schock of Klamath Falls, OR, as well as his sister, Mary Johnson of Beaverton, OR.

Marvin is now reunited in spirit with his beloved wife, Sharon Schock, parents Jacob and Clara Schock, sister Ines Schock, and brothers Elmer, Bill, and Larry Schock.

A memorial service honoring Marvin's life will be held on Monday, September 14, at 1 PM at the Choteau Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to join us in remembering a man who was loved and will surely be missed by many.
