Lenore Ann Jessop Rogers of Choteau tragically passed away in a house fire on August 31, 2025. As her family lovingly shared, "She's now in heaven passing out bubble gum to the kids."
Lenore was born on April 27, 1949, in Conrad, Montana, to George "Buck" Jessop and Lorraine Theresa (Campbell) Jessop. She grew up in Choteau, where she met her high school sweetheart, Jack Rogers Jr. After graduating from Choteau High School in 1967, she married Jack on September 21, 1968-a union that spanned 57 years.
The couple moved to Bozeman, where Lenore attended Montana State University, before returning home to Choteau in 1970. For 21 years, she worked as the secretary at Courtesy Ford Conrad, where she was cherished for her dedication and creativity, especially during the annual Christmas parties when her baked goods became a highlight. Lenore also worked at the Log Cabin Drive-In, the Circle N, and the Choteau House.
Baking was her greatest passion, but her talents stretched far beyond the kitchen. She enjoyed painting houses, upholstering furniture, reading, and traveling. She had a special gift for bringing joy to others-whether through activities with children, which she treasured most, or by creating clever gag gifts for the Courtesy Ford crew.
Lenore is survived by her husband, Jack Rogers Jr.; son, David Rogers (Rachel) of Choteau; sister, Betty Jo Miller (Bill) of Choteau; brother, Robert "Bob" Jessop (Mary) of Wastucna, WA; grandsons, Justin Rogers (Cassie) and Tucker Rogers (Celie); great-grandsons, Micha and Nikoli; cousins, Jackie Weist (Dan) of Choteau and Jimmy Peters (Lois) of Post Falls, ID; along with many other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Aaron.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Choteau Cemetery, with a gathering to follow at the Choteau Country Club.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Lenore's memory may be made to the Choteau Volunteer Fire Department.
Condolences may be shared with the family at www.frontierfuneralhome.com.
