Birch Creek Colony- John J. Kleinsasser, 70, passed away Monday, October 19th at his home of cancer. The funeral service will be Thursday, October 22nd at 11:30am at the colony church with burial to follow at the colony cemetery.

Frontier Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Annie, daughter, Laura (Jerry) Waldner, sons; Ron (Naomi), Joe (Nella), and Luke (Diana) of Birch Creek and daughter Helen (Mark) Waldner of East End Colony and 24 grandchildren. Sisters; Martha (Chris) Decker of Mossleigh, Alberta, Dorothy (Jake) Hofer of Miller Colony, Lydia (Dan) Waldner of Magrath, Alberta, and Clara Kleinsasser. Brothers; Ed (Elizabeth) and Dave (Leona) all of Birch Creek Colony.

He was proceeded in death by his father, John, in 1968 and mother, Annie in 2013, and an infant sister. John was the colony secretary/manager for the last 27 years and was farm boss for 9 years beforehand. He enjoyed fixing things and was always ready to help others. He was a soft-spoken gentleman and enjoyed doing chores with his grandsons. He was loved and cared for dearly and with faith, hope, and God's grace we'll reunite in Heaven after life's journey.
