June 25, 1941 — March 9, 2021

Janet L. Truchot, 79, formerly of Choteau, passed away March 9, 2021 in Kalispell, MT.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Buffalo Hill Crematory in Kalispell and a Celebration of life and interment will take place, May 15, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Choteau Cemetery, under the guidance of Gorder-Jensen Funeral Home.

Janet was born June 25, 1941 in Broadus, Montana to Thomas Harper and Thelma (Field) Harper. She attended and graduated from Choteau High School. Janet was working as a waitress at the Cornel Hotel in Choteau where she met the love of her life Alex J. Truchot. The couple was married September 22, 1962 at the Choteau Lutheran Church and were happily married for 47 years.

Alex and Janet lived on the family farm in Agawam until Alex retired. The family then moved to Choteau in 2002. Living on the farm gave Janet the ability to stay home and raise her two boys and many animals. She worked part time at various businesses over the years and was on the volunteer ambulance crew. Janet lived in Choteau until Alex passed away in 2010. After the loss of her husband, she moved to Washington; to be near her son Alex, for a few years. Later on she moved to Kalispell, to be near her other son Joseph, where she stayed until she passed away.

Janet loved to craft and had many hobbies over the years. She was very passionate about painting Ceramics and Porcelain and even invested in her own kiln, so she could fire her pottery. She also spent time making jewelry out of beads. Near the end of her life, her eyesight got bad. She had to quit the hobbies and started listening to audio books. She loved feeding the birds. When she could not see them well, she still put out food so that she could hear them.

Janet is survived by her sons, Joseph P. Truchot of Kalispell, Montana and Alex T. Truchot of Bothell, Washington; her sister, Loise Neel of Kalispell, Montana and brothers, Jerry Harper of Puyallup, Washington and Thomas Harper of Roy, Utah as well as her grandson, Jonathan A. Truchot.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Alex J. Truchot and her sister, Deloris Johnson.
