Jamie Rae Arthur quietly left us while she was asleep on Monday, May 21st, 2018. She is now reunited with friends and family, waiting for us to show up.
Jamie was a kind, caring, compassionate woman who spent her life taking care of her family and friends. She was a very strong and selfless person, helping anyone who was in need, always putting others ahead of herself. She enjoyed sitting and visiting, watching old movies, reading, and taking care of her grandchildren. She crocheted dozens of blankets for the Children's Hospital in Seattle, from little fuzzy preemies wraps to big blankets for the older kids. Jamie was so proud of her own children and grandchildren, and always knew what each one was up to. She loved clouds and sunsets, penguins and bunnies, babies and soft fuzzy blankets. She was also a Vikings fan and loved the color purple.
Born October 8th in Billings, MT, to Lyle and Barb Sundine, Jamie grew up in Minneapolis and Great Falls. Jamie graduated from CMR in 1978 and then attended business schools in Bozeman, Billings, and Glasgow, MT. She was married to the late Sam Cisney in 1978 and they had two children, Edwin and NayOmie. They were later divorced. She worked in Ronan and then moved to Fairfield where she worked at the Fairfield Bank for 17 years as a bookkeeper. Jamie was married to Lonnie Arthur in 1993, and his daughter Candy joined the family.
Then along came Katey Arthur, their baby, who died of cancer in 2006, at the age of 12. This was quite a blow that Jamie never really got over. Next she cared for her dad Lyle as he died from cancer in 2007. Then she took care of her mom Barbara from 2010 until her death in late 2012. Jamie then spent her time babysitting grandkids and making sure everyone was looked after.
Jamie has a brother Michael (Dawn) Sundine of Great Falls, and 3 sisters. Barb Burnett lives in Billings, Penny Nelson lives in Great Falls, and Nikki (William) Wahlberg also lives in Great Falls. Numerous beloved nieces and nephews scattered around the country, one of which, Ashley Shell, passed away last December from cancer in Great Falls.
Jamie is survived by her husband Lonnie of Fairfield; son Edwin (Rachel) Cisney and their new daughter Freya of Phoenix, AZ; daughter NayOmie (Jim) Nelson of Vaughn with their kids Kolton, Kaleb, and daughter McKayla; and daughter Candy (Corey) Arthur of Great Falls with Austin, Tjaden, and daughter Anna. Lonnie's dad, Larry Arthur, lives in Winifred, MT. Lonnie's mom, Helen Berger, lives in Lewistown, MT.
Services will be held at the Assembly of God church at 2001 Central Ave, Great Falls, on Saturday, May 26th, at 1:00 PM. There will be a viewing at 12:30. Everyone is welcome. Cards and letters can be mailed to Box 233, Fairfield, MT, 59436. Jamie supported St Jude's Hospital, Shriners, Children's Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, and Make a Wish.
