James Sangray

April 12, 1933 — December 29, 2011

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 5, 2012 at the Choteau United Methodist Church in Choteau, Montana for James Richard (Dick) Sangray, age 78, of East Glacier, Montana. Dick died December 29th at the Browning Care Center in Browning from natural causes. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Gorder Jensen Funeral Home of Choteau.



Dick was born April 12, 1933 in Gilman, Montana, the son of Thomas and Anne (Pocha) Sangray. He married Norma J. Ginther on February 4, 1953 in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

Dick was the Maintenance Custodial Supervisor for the Brady School for 25 years and also took care of the water and sewer system in Brady. Dick was an on-call Deputy Sheriff for Pondera County for over 25 years as well. Later he was the Maintenance Custodial Supervisor for the Browning School District.



He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He was a Boy Scout Leader for many years and was awarded the highest honor, the Silver Beaver Award.

Survivors include his wife, Norma; his children Rich (Linda) Sangray of Great Falls and Renee (Gerhard) Plenert of Carmichael, California; his brothers Ronald Sangray of Augusta, Andrew Sangray of Helena, and Robert Sangray of Great Falls; 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.



He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Char Gardiner, 3 brothers, Mike, Jack and Tom Sangray and 2 sisters, Burneal Day and Rosella Henry.
