James Denison

November 23, 1929 — February 2, 2012

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 9, 2012 at the Choteau Cemetery for James Joseph Denison, age 82, of Choteau, Mt who died Thursday, February 2, 2012 at his home in Choteau, MT. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Gorder Jensen Funeral Home of Choteau and interment of his cremated remains will be in the Choteau Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church following services at the cemetery.



James was born November 23, 1929 in Choteau, MT, the son of Ira F. "Ike" and Julia Mae (Zgoda) Denison. He was raised and educated in the Bynum and Choteau area graduating from Teton County High School. During his younger years he worked as a farm and ranch hand and he served in the US Navy and as a reservist. He was married to Jeanette Anderson on March 30, 1954 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Choteau. He worked for the Teton County Road Department for 38 1/2 years until retiring.



James enjoyed hunting deer and elk during his younger years and also he enjoyed riding and caring for his horses. He also enjoyed the activities of his children and grandchildren as well as the social activities (bingo and playing cards) at the Senior Center.



He is survived by his daughter: Debra (Mrs. Tony) Allen of Bandon, OR; a son: Gary Denison of Sandia Park, NM; a sister: Frances Brush of Hopkins, MN; grandchildren: Justin and Kyle Denison of Albuquerque, NM, Michael Allen of Albany, OR and Megan Allen of Portland, OR and a great granddaughter: Alex Lacy Denison of Albuquerque, NM.



He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Jeanette in 2008.



Memorials are suggested to the Choteau Senior Center or the Trinity Lutheran Church.
