Hilburn Borland

September 8, 1920 — February 10, 2012

Funeral services will be held at a later date for Hilburn Oliver Borland, age 91 of Choteau, MT and formerly of Hot Springs, AR who died Friday, February 10, 2012 at the Teton Medical Center Extended Care Unit from natural causes. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Gorder Jensen Funeral Home.



Hilburn was born Sept. 8, 1920 in Moscow, AR, the son of Cullen Oliver and Mary Europa (Uland) Borland. He was married Jan. 17, 1945 in Marion, South Carolina to Sally Lucille Rogers.



Hilburn was a B-17 mechanic in the South Pacific during WWII and a veteran of the US Army Air Corps and the US Air Force. He moved to Choteau 2 years ago from Hot Springs, AR but spent most of his life in Pickens, AR where he was a farm mechanic foreman. Hilburn was a member of the Methodist Church in Dumas, AR. He enjoyed gardening and yard work, fishing, going for walks and dancing with his Lucy. His life was mainly family and farm.



Hilburn is survived by a son: Danny (wife, Dr. Judy) Borland of Fairfield, MT; a sister, Glenda Fowler of Livingston, MT; grandchildren: Elizabeth Billingsly of Conway, AR and Bryan Borland of Alexander, AR; two great grandchildren: Michael and Emily, both of Conway and 11 nieces and nephews.



He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jimmy Ray Borland; a brother, Marshall Borland; two sisters, Clementine Herron and Pauline Gannaway and a grandson, Glen Borland.



Memorials are suggested to the Teton Medical Center; Choteau, MT.
