In loving memory, we bid farewell to Helen May Hegland (nee Zier), a cherished soul who graced this earthly realm with her presence for 87 years. With heavy hearts, we acknowledge her peaceful passing on January 21, 2022, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion. Born on April 17, 1934, in Hysham, Montana, Helen's life was a testament to the timeless values of family, service, and dedication.

Helen embraced life's joys and challenges with unwavering resolve. In November 2019, she found solace in a nursing care facility in Pueblo, Colorado as she faced the trials of Alzheimer's disease. Though her memory faded, her spirit remained steadfast, radiating warmth and kindness to all she encountered. Her unwavering commitment to her role as a resident and caregiver was a testament to her selflessness and unwavering dedication. Helen never knew she was a resident in the home; she thought she worked there!

Throughout her life, Helen's compassionate heart led her to serve others. For over two decades, she devoted herself as a nurse's aide at the Montana Deaconess Medical Center in Great Falls, Montana, caring for surgical patients and offering comfort to those in need. Her healing touch and gentle words brought solace and reassurance to countless lives. Even in retirement, Helen continued to extend her nurturing presence as an aide in community home care, embodying the spirit of compassion and support.

Family was the cornerstone of Helen's life, and her love for her siblings, children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews knew no bounds. Her selflessness and unwavering devotion were evident in her tireless efforts to support and uplift them in every way possible. In times of joy and sorrow, Helen's steadfast love provided strength to her beloved family.

In moments of respite, Helen found solace in her cherished hobbies. With nimble hands and a creative spirit, she delved into arts and crafts, finding joy in ceramics and crochet. Her creations were testaments to her talent and dedication, reflecting the beauty and artistry she found in the world. She also enjoyed occasional visits to the casinos, savoring the excitement that came with trying her luck. When the opportunity arose, she delighted in friendly games of pinochle, sharing laughter and camaraderie with loved ones. When she moved to Colorado from Montana, she volunteered at the Aurora, Colorado senior center for over five years, working in the gift shop. When she moved to Pueblo, Colorado, she volunteered for several years at her apartment complex kitchen during coffee and doughnut hour.

Helen's memory will forever be treasured by her surviving sisters, Jean Lindseth and Sharon Lucas, as well as her children, Allen Reiman, Heather Meadowcroft, and Gayle Lafond. Helen was graced with six grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Jacob Zier, her mother, Anne Wolfe, her son, Roger Reiman, and her sister, Betty Mainard.
