Gladys Jean Caldwell, 98, a long-time Fairfield resident, died on June 29, 2026, at Front Range Assisted Living in Fairfield.

Gladys was born on June 17, 1928, to Burt and Beatrice Horn at the family ranch north of Windham. She was the sixth of 10 children. She attended school in Windham and was salutatorian of her graduating class. She married fellow graduate Geord Caldwell in 1947. She worked at the Fairfield Town Hall and the Fairfield-Teton Public Library. She was a devoted member of the United Church of Christ.

She is survived by her sisters, Freda Horn, Edith Gamble and Carol Bell; her children, Kathy Caldwell, Cheryl (the late Van) Martin, Rodney (Judy) Caldwell, Tinna (Michael) Moore, Charleen (David) Henderson and Tobin Caldwell; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

No service is planned at this time. She will be buried at the Fairfield Cemetery.
