Ellen Noyd

May 29, 1937 — March 23, 2012

Retired business owner, Ellen Noyd, 74, passed away March 23rd, 2012 at a Great Falls care facility from complications resulting from surgery. A memorial service is planned for Saturday March 31st at 11:00 am and will be held at Gorder-Jensen Funeral Home in Choteau, MT with Pastor Jason Asselstine of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating.



Ellen was born May 29th, 1937 in Buffalo NY to Harold and Elsie Reise. She married Raymond Noyd August 8th, 1953 in Maryland. Together they had 4 children. Up until 1972 they owned a bakery and donut shop in New York state. In 1972 they moved the family west to Choteau, MT where they purchased the Western Star motel. In 1982 the couple purchased A&K Lanes. They ran both businesses until their retirement. After a 2 year stint in Washington state they moved to Conrad where they lived for the next few years.



Ellen was happiest spending time with family and enjoying her hobbies which included camping and fishing, ceramics, knitting, playing cards and most importantly enjoying her grand kids.



Ellen is survived by her husband Ray Noyd, son John (Terry) Noyd of Monroe, WA, daughters Debbie (Jeff) Manas of Monroe, WA, Laurie (Fred) Morris of Conrad, MT, Erica Lill of Seattle, WA, sister Linda Reise of Orchard Park, NY and brother David (Nancy) Reise of Churchville, MD. In addition Ellen had 11 Grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Nancy and Susie.
