Obituary for Donald McGhee

1933-2025

At 92 years old, this self made man was still tough as nails. More comfortable in a flannel shirt than his Sunday duds, he lived the life that suited him best.

Independent on strong, Don's path in life began back East. He blazed his own trail, self-educating along the way; sharing both technical and primitive skills with others. He was industrious and a perfectionist, welding in his father's garage at the age of 9. He ended his professional occupation as a precision millwright in 1997.

Avid hunter, fisherman, and family provider, Don had a passion for the great outdoors and never passed up an opportunity to explore. He took his family camping on weekends to places no man had ever seen before...or so we thought. To him there was nothing better than a campfire roasted hotdog washed bone with an ice cold bottle of orange Crush that had been cooled in a nearby creek.

His greatest love of all was his lovely wife, Sandra, followed up by three ornery kids.

We hope dad catches the Big One as he walks through another heaven. Pole in one hand, rifle slung over the opposite shoulder, and possibly a beagle by his heels.

Don was proceeded in death by his wife Sandra. He is survived by his children: Sharron Pennetta, Terrie Nyland (Steve), Timothy McGhee (Linda). Grandchildren: Tiffany, Sarah, Carly, Jamie and Adam.

Great Grandchildren: Amaya, Raelynn, Kaleigh, Brayden, Greyson, Berkleigh, Willow, and Ember. Sisters: Janie and Judy. Brother: Bill
