Obituary for Dianne Louise Herold
Dianne Lousie Herold went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 2, 2025. Dianne and her identical twin sister, Kathleen, were born on June 9, 1944 to Ray and Mildred Lewis in Saint Paul, MN. Her best friends were her siblings Brent, Kathleen, Jill, Jackie and Tim. They remained close all of her life. Dianne graduated from Hopkins High School in 1962. She then attended Saint Cloud State and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and Sociology in 1967.
In 1968, with Kathleen, she moved to Turner, MT to teach third grade. She loved living in Big Sky Country. In 1969 she married Jerry Herold and in 1971 they adopted their 10 month old son, Shawn. They then moved back to Minnesota where Dianne taught first grade. When the marriage ended Dianne moved back to Turner. During that time, Dianne made very close lifelong friends with Marilyn Tooke,Roberta Cederberg, and her sister in law Pernal Solberg.
In 1978, Dianne went on to teach school for a Hutterite Colony near Choteau, MT. After teaching there she taught in Zurich, MT and then taught Special Education in Harlem, MT. In 1990-1994 she taught preschool and daycare in Greybull, Wyoming. In 1994 she started her career as a professional nanny. After her first job, another family requested her to nanny and homeschool their children, Marcella and Elana, which she did from 1997-2006. She remained close to this family until her last days on earth. Dianne was then hired by Jordan and Hilary (Kuntz) Handy to take care of their children Aubree and Aislinn in Zurich, MT. Later, in the home of Reuban and Libby Kuntz, Dianne took care of Libby's mom (Hilary's grandmother), Venus Bardanouve. She loved taking care of Venus and helping out with the Kuntz's fun loving dogs. Dianne remained very close to her second family to the day she was called home to Heaven.
Dianne had an apartment at the Little Rockies Apartments in Harlem, MT where she made many close friends. She was known for walking everywhere while she visited friends along the way. Dianne was active in the Harlem Assembly of God Church off and on whenever she lived in Turner, Harlem, or Zurich. She taught Sunday School and Children's Church until she was 80 years old. She loved all the children unconditionally. Pastor Jackson, his family and the entire congregation were very dear to Dianne's heart.
On December 27, 2024 Dianne came to live with her twin sister Kathy in Fairfield, MT to take care of medical needs in Great Falls, MT and to be close to her grandchildren/nieces and nephews. For 6 months the family treasured their time together. In July due to health issues Dianne moved to Teton Peaks Assisted Living where she received loving care and her family was able to continue to visit her every day until she went on to be with Jesus.
Dianne is survived by her son Shawn Herold, siblings Brent Lewis (Betty), Kathy Windels, Jill Danner, Tim Lewis (Sue), grandchildren/nieces/nephews Tristan, Dakota, Levi and Rachel Gibson, Christopher Herold, nieces and nephews, Kirsten Falcone, Julie Windels Gibson (Jason), Wayne Birdtail Windels, Robert, Frank and Santos Luna-Windels, Jolene Danner, Brenda Danner (Steve) Carrie Ophem (Justin), Nick Lewis (Kayla), grandnieces/nephews, Angelina Windels, Zayne Gibson, Christopher, Eric and Peter Falcone, Chase and Livy Lewis, Blake and Brayden Opheim.
