Deloris Fey

April 1, 1924 — July 29, 2018

DELORIES HERMAN FEY, age 94, died on July 29, 2018 at Front Range Assisted Living, Fairfield, Montana. Delories Herman was born on April 1, 1924 at the family home near Kulm, North Dakota to Olga (Brosz) and Rudolph Herman. The family lived at several farm locations until 1937 when they moved to the town of Edgeley. After graduating from High School in 1942, Delories attended Business College at Ellendale, North Dakota. Her first job as a secretary was in Ellendale where she was employed by Attorney T. L. Brouillard. However, many cousins were serving in the Armed Forces and Delories too wanted to be involved in the war effort. Thus she wrote the Civil Service exam and soon was in Washington, D.C. working in the War Department Liaison Office on Capitol Hill. When World War II ended, Delories returned to civilian work and her next employment was as secretary at the Peru Mining Company in Silver City, New Mexico. In 1947 she returned to North Dakota to visit family and while there she met Ernest Fey of Kulm. They married on January 25, 1948 and lived in Jamestown, North Dakota the next three years. Delories worked as a secretary for the President and Secretary of the North Dakota Farmers Union. In 1951 De and Ernie moved to Havre, Montana and two years later Ernie transferred to a Buttrey store in Missoula. For the next twenty years De worked for the Missoula Chamber of Commerce. She retired in 1972. De moved to Choteau, Montana in 2014 to be closer to her brother, Jerry. De researched and published the history of her Mom's Brosz Family. She also spent many years researching and preparing her Herman Family History, as well as the history of Ernie's Fey and Siewert Families. De and Ernie were members of the First Presbyterian Church since moving to Missoula in 1953. They were proud God Parents to Linda Bjork Rye, Robert Hilscher, Dale Gackle, Karen De Herman, and Monica Lea Gordon. De was preceded in death by her husband Ernie Fey, and her parents. Survivors are her brother Gerald Herman and wife Marilyn of Choteau, Montana; sister-in-law Marie Hilscher and sister-in-law Ruby Gackle of Kulm, North Dakota; nieces and nephews Karen De Herman; Madalyn Crouch and family; Wade Dudley and family; Donald Hilscher; Robert Hilscher; Carol Little and family; Richard Hilscher and family; Darrell Gackle and Dale Gackle and family. Choteau arrangements were by Gorder-Jensen Funeral Home, and North Dakota funeral arrangements by Dahlstrom Funeral Home of Kulm, North Dakota. Funeral Services will be held August 4th, 2018 at 1:00 O'Clock pm, at the Dalhstrom Funeral Home of Kulm, North Dakota.
