Deann Karki

Deann Marie (Smith) Karki of Fairfield, passed away September 3, 2017 at Peace Hospice in Great Falls, MT after battling breast cancer, she was 59 years old.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Gorder-Jensen Funeral Home of Choteau, MT and private services will take place at a later date.

Deann was born July 24, 1958 to Robert M. Smith and Donna VanAtta in Columbus, Ohio. She attended Olentangy High School in Delaware, Ohio and graduated in 1975. She married her husband Simo Karki on August 5, 1989 in Sunbury, Ohio and the couple moved to Fairfield where they have lived for 23 years. She held a few different jobs mainly working in the medical field either as a CNA or in home health care. She loved helping others but her favorite job, which she took much pride in, was being a home maker.

Deann is survived by her husband Simo Karki of Fairfield, MT; her father Robert M. Smith of Columbus, Ohio and her step mother Maija Smith also of Columbus, Ohio. She is also survived by her siblings Randall Smith of Newark, Ohio; Dale Smith of Columbus, Ohio; Jill Church of Ashley, Ohio; Lynn Smith of Delaware, Ohio and Sherri Alicie of Cardington, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her mother Donna VanAtta.
