Darwin Reeve

Darwin Lloyd Reeve (85) of Dutton, MT passed away
February 15, 2023 at Benefis Hospital in Great Falls, MT. Cremation has
taken place under the direction of Gorder-Jensen Funeral Home. A
service for Darwin will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church (118 Main
Street Dutton, MT) on August 4, 2023 at 1:00 PM. A celebration of
Darwin's life will be held at the American Legion following the church
service.
Darwin was born August 31, 1937 in Conrad, Montana to Lloyd "Ray" Reeve and Vera (Spicer) Reeve; he was one of three children. He attended school in Dutton, MT and graduated from Dutton High School with the class of 1955. Following high school he attended Montana State University Northern for two years; however in 1957 he returned home to take over the family farm. He enlisted with he Army National Guard in 1957 and was honorably discharged in 1959 due to a knee injury.
Darwin met Sharon Schaffer on a blind date and they married on July 7, 1962 at the Dutton United Methodist Church. T h ey were happily married for 54 years. Darwin was a farmer through and through and was proud of the land he worked and lived on.
Darwin loved hunting, fishing, spending time at the cabin and just being outdoors. He enjoyed bowling, leather work, spending time with his family, watching his grandchildren play sports, drinking coffee with his buddies and dancing with Margie.
He was a member of American Auxiliary for 35 years, a member of the Elks Auxiliary post 214 and The Shriners Horse Patrol. He loved telling stories about the days of breaking horses and all the wild hunting adventures he had. So many great memories and laughs. He was loved by many. His wife, Sharon, always thought he looked like Elvis Presley. He was a true cowboy. Darwin had a heart of gold and will truly be missed. His loving heart, smile and generous soul left a beacon of light for his family and all in the community.
Darwin is survived by his sons, Vernon Reeve of Bigfork, Montana;
Randall (Dana) Reeve and Richard (Kim) Reeve both of Dutton, Montana as well as 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and his girlfriend, Margaret Owen.
Darwin was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Darlene Denzer and Shirley Walker and his beloved wife, Sharon.
In lieu of flowers, donation's in Darwin's name are suggested to Bethany Lutheran Church, The Dutton Emergency Medical Center or The Dutton American Legion Post # 64.
