Bev Carlson

March 4, 1935 — December 22, 2011

Private family graveside funeral services will be held for Beverly (Bev) Carlson, age 76, of Choteau, MT who died Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the Teton Nursing Home in Choteau surrounded by her family. Interment will be in the Choteau Cemetery under the direction of Gorder Jensen Funeral Home of Choteau. Visitation will be from 21:00 PM to 3:00 PM Monday, December 26, 2011 at the funeral home.



Bev was born in Conrad, MT on March 4, 1935, to Hazel (Berland) Castle and Elmer Castle. She attended schools in Sweet Grass Hills, Kevin, Cut Bank and Choteau, graduating in 1953 from Choteau High School.



She worked for a time for Glen and Millie Inbody and Bateman Hospital in Choteau before attending Columbus Nursing School in Great Falls in 1953-54. On October 9, 1954, she married C. Albert Carlson in Choteau. They lived on the family farm on the Farmington Bench, raising two children, son: Dave and daughter, Fern. In recent years they moved into Choteau. Besides being a homemaker, Mom worked part time for several winters for Ellen's Ladies Apparel and Rex's Food Farm in Choteau.



Mom loved playing bridge, puzzles, ceramics, camping, snowmobiling, boating, flower gardening and fishing. She was active in the Trinity Lutheran Church Ladies Circle, Farmington's Home Demonstration Club, Ladies Aid, Fidelity #18 Order of Eastern Star, a charter member and Mother Advisor of Choteau Assembly # 54 International Order of Rainbow for Girls. In later years, she and Albert loved to RV and winter in Arizona.



Mom is survived by her husband of 57 years, Albert of the family home, son, David (Crystal) Carlson of Choteau, daughter Fern (Fred) Thompson of Laurel, grandchildren, Shawn Thompson of Helena, Casey Thompson of Laurel, Garth Carlson and MacKenzie Carlson of Choteau, sister, Sharon (Richard) Rogers of Redding, CA, sisters-in-law, Christine Castle of Conrad, Louise Castle of Kennewick, WA, brother and sister-in-law, John and Jacquie Carlson of Choteau and numerous nieces and nephews.



She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Jay and Dale Castle and sister Rita Brown.



Memorials are suggested to the Teton County Nursing Home or the Trinity Lutheran Church, both of Choteau.
