Arthur Clarence Kaasa, 88, of Malta, MT and recently residing in Augusta, MT, passed away peacefully at home on October 4, 2026, supported by his family.

Art was born March 3, 1938 in Malta, MT, the 8th child of John Alfred Kaasa and Mabel Larson Kaasa. He grew up on the family ranch east of Malta. Art graduated from Saco High School in 1956, then attended Northern Montana College in Havre, MT. He graduated with a double major in Industrial Arts and English Education.

Art married Joan Vasboe on June 3,1961, in Cut Bank, MT. Their life together was blessed with four children, 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Art taught high school in Big Sandy, Glasgow, Hogeland, Chinook and Dodson, while also working on the ranch during the summers. In 1974, Art, Joan and their family moved out to the ranch full time. Art operated the ranch until his retirement.

Art is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joan; sons Clint of Phoenix, AZ and Clay (JoDee) of Idaho Falls, ID, daughters Cindy of Augusta, MT and Cheryl (John) of Keizer, OR; grandchildren Christopher, Chad, Chelsey (Cameron), Daniel (Margaret), Joshua (Erica), Joseph (Suzie), Kaci, Kadee, Derek, Dylan and Adrian; great grandchildren Tanner and Lily; sister Mary Ketchum of Hinsdale, MT, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Art was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Gusta Chapman and Alice Dancer, and brothers John, Merle, Osborne, and Carl.

At his request, no funeral services will be held.
