Arlyne Johns

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM October 22, 2011 at the Gorder Jensen Funeral Home in Choteau, MT for Arlyne May (McCollom) Johns, age 91, of Choteau, MT and formerly of Malta, Mt, who died Friday, October 7, 2011 at Benefis East Hospital in Great Falls, MT from natural causes. Graveside services will be held at 4:30 PM , October 22, 2011 at the Malta Cemetery in Malta, MT. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, October 21, 2011 at the Gorder Jensen Funeral Home.



Arlyne was born October 25, 1919 in Malta, MT, the daughter of Edward and Laura (Link) Eskildsen. She was married to Romey McCollom on July 6, 1938 in Malta, MT and he preceded her in death on October 18, 1990. She married Charles Johns on March 9, 1998 and he preceded her in death on April 25, 2008.



She was employed by Farm Service Agency for 7 years in Malta and in Choteau for 25 years retiring as office manager in 1976. She has lived in Choteau since 1950-51, moving here from Malta, MT.



Arlyne was an avid reader and enjoyed writing poetry and shopping at the Full Circle. She also loved flowers and playing cards. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Choteau.



She is survived by her four children: Sharon (Walt) Winters of Elizabeth, CO, Edward (Marilyn) McCollom of Cedar City, UT, Loren Bruce McCollom of Billings, MT and Lonnie (Sharon) McCollom of Dutton, MT; a brother: Leslie (Virginia) Eskildsen of Malta, MT; 7 grandchildren: Steve (Jennifer) Loss of Las Vegas, NV, April (Kirk) Burton of Elizabeth, CO, Eric (Kristi) McCollom and Amy (Bryan) Flippin, both of Las Vegas, NV, Brian (Christina) McCollom of Choteau, MT, Brad (Heather) McCollom of Vero Beach, FL, and Brenda (John) Bolton of Great Falls, MT; and 17 great grandchildren.



She was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands and a son: Leslie Garry McCollom in 1941.
